This opportunity enables you to be the first point of contact for any IT queries at a busy head office based on Birmingham Business Park. You will receive 32 days holiday per year including Bank Holidays plus Christmas shutdown, health insurance and free car parking. This is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2019.
You will be working for a housing association who manage over 20,000 homes and continually strive to improve services whilst maximising affordable homes for the future.
As the 1st Line Support IT Technician, you will be:
- The first point of contact for all first stage ICT queries from all staff members and Directors
- Resolving a range of computer queries including basic network issues, mapping network drives, password resets and creating new users
- Remote control of PCs in order to resolve any issues
- Escalating issues to 2nd line/desktop support, 3rd line support or logging calls with 3rd party vendor assistance
- Logging all incidents onto the helpdesk system and working to deadlines
To be successful as the 1st Line Support IT Technician, you will have:
- A strong understanding of Microsoft computer equipment and functions including basic network and VPN assistance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical IT issues into basic terms
- You may have experience of one of the following: ICT Service Desk Analyst, ICT Helpdesk Engineer, ICT Engineer, Computer Technician, Service Desk Assistant, 2nd Line, Remote Desktop Services, Helpdesk, LANs, WANs, Internet Technologies, Firewalls. You may also have a qualification such as ITIL Foundation, MCITP, Microsoft Certified
As the 1st Line Support IT Technician, you will receive a salary of £20,772 per annum plus the following benefits:
