We are recruiting for a Payroll Technician to join our client who is a Midland-based Accountancy firm with multiple offices across the region.  Working from home to start, you will then be based in the Staffordshire office as and when required.    
The working hours will be 09.00 am - 5.15 pm with a 1-hour lunch break, Monday to Friday. Benefits also include 33 days holiday including Bank Holidays per annum, bespoke discounts, life assurance and flexible agile working.   
 
As a Payroll Technician, your duties will include:
  • Preparing a range of payrolls of varying complexity in accordance with the client’s deadlines
  • Understanding and advising clients to ensure their payroll is compliant with current legislation
  • Completing bank payments on behalf of the client, providing details to the bank by set deadlines completing HMRC returns such as full payment submissions and employment payment submissions
  • Understanding and keeping up to date on the different types of pension schemes and how to calculate pension payments accurately
  • Maintaining the upkeep of payroll files to specified standards
As a Payroll Technician, you will have:
  • Previous experience working within a payroll bureau environment, umbrella organisations or managed multiple payrolls
  • Previous experience working on Sage50 Payroll, this is essential
  • You may have experience of the following: Accountants, Payroll Assistant, Payroll Practitioner, Payroll Administrator, Part Qualified, Bookkeeping, Bookkeeper, Book-keeper, Practice, Finance, Management Accounts, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks
 
As a Payroll Technician, you will receive a salary of circa £25,000 per annum depending on experience plus fantastic benefits
