A fantastic opening has arisen for a Product & Purchasing Officer to join a manufacturing company based in Hamstead, Birmingham. Benefits include free car parking, 32 days holiday including Bank Holidays and pension.  You will be supporting the buying and product development activities.

Hours of work are 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, working 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working may be considered, in which case flexibility with working hours will be required.  

As the Product & Purchasing Officer, your duties will include:

  • Identifying potential suppliers overseas and within the UK, communicating requirements, obtaining quotations and samples
  • Handling purchase activities for both new and existing products, including raising orders, tracking production, expediting and scheduling deliveries and dealing with any good receipt issues
  • Analysing options and providing recommendations
  • Liaising with new and existing suppliers to discuss prices, terms, deliveries and resolving queries as and when required
  • Coordinating product launches including SKU set up, packaging, product spec information, warehousing information and sales support material from marketing
  • Being responsible for assisting with inventory management and stock availability, ordering new stock when required
  • Working closely with internal departments, assisting the sales and other internal departments

As the Product & Purchasing Officer, you will have:

  • Previous experience working in a similar position; however, this is not essential 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • A good mathematical knowledge
  • Degree in Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, Product Management or similar, however, this is not essential
  • Further related study or qualifications, e.g. CIPS qualifications, Project Management, Product Management or Development, or other relevant areas, however, this is not essential
  • Experience in the Bathroom & Plumbing Industry
  • You may have experience working in any of the following: Supply Chain Coordinator, Purchasing Coordinator, Purchasing Assistant or Administrator, Logistics Coordinator, Supply Chain Assistant, Product Development Administrator or any other similar position

Working as the Product & Purchasing Officer, your salary will be between £25,000 to £28,000 depending on experience.
