Are you an experienced Operations Manager with a passion for making a positive impact in the community? You will be joining a well-established charity based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire who are focused on improving health, wellbeing, social inclusion and communities through physical activity. 

This a part time position, working 28 hours per week. Their core hours are 10am to 4pm and the organisation are flexible if you would like to work across 4 or 5 days per week. This is a hybrid position and you will be in the office 1 day per week.

You will receive the following benefits: 38.5 days holiday pro rata including Bank Holidays and Christmas Shut Down, additional holiday increases with service up to 43.5 days pro rata in total, Wellbeing Grant voucher of £50 to be spent on health and wellbeing, volunteer day, up to 8% pension scheme, annual CPD courses offered by Staffordshire University, online skills training platform and access to a counselling service.

As the Operations Manager, your duties will include:

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the business operations and administration functions for the charity organisation
  • Line managing the Business Support Administrator 
  • Ensuring staff across the charity have access to resources and information required to do their jobs well 
  • Providing governance support to the board of trustees, taking minutes where required
  • Developing new processes and implementing tools for efficiency such as AI 
  • Enhancing and maintaining HR processes on Sage HR to support line managers with staff management
  • Managing contracts for outsourced functions, liaising with suppliers and general purchasing for the team
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are compliant and up to date
  • Ensuring the charity is compliant with its obligations such as fundraising standards, health and safety, GDPR   


As the Operations Manager, you will have:

  • Previous operational management experience within a charity or the voluntary / not for profit sector
  • Experienced in charity governance processes 
  • A proactive and agile approach with the ability to coordinate with colleagues as well as work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • IT literate - experience in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint would be an advantage
  • You may have experience in any of the following: Business Manager, Office Manager, Compliance Manager, Risk Officer, Governance Administrator, Governance Officer, Business Support, Charity Management, Executive Assistant, PA, Personal Assistant, Operations Officer, Operations Coordinator

 

As the Operations Manager, you will receive a salary of £40,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience / £21.97ph.
