A great opportunity has arisen for an Income Housing Officer based in North Birmingham to make a positive impact on residents and build successful communities. This role is to start on 7th January 2019 and is temporary until approximately mid-February.

Formed over 30 years ago, you will be working for an award-winning association who support residents across Birmingham and the Black Country.


As the Income Housing Officer, you will be:

  • Working across Birmingham and the Black Country, providing support to up to 450 properties
  • Ensuring income is maximised, chasing customers for rent and service charge payments
  • Negotiating payment plans and referring customers for money advice support where necessary
  • Compiling paperwork for court and attending court where required
  • Completing full housing officer duties including tenant assessments, sign ups and resolving ASB issues
  • Working both out on patch and in the office


To be successful as the Income Housing Officer, you will have:

  • Previously worked within rent collection including preparing documentation for court and attending court
  • A full driving licence and own car to use for business purposes
  • An Enhanced DBS check completed within the last 6 months
  • You may have experience of the following: rent collection, rent arrears, rent management, payment plans, Universal Credit, Scheme Manager, Social Properties, Outreach Worker, Accommodation Access Worker, Advisor, Vulnerable People Coordinator, Charities, Social Worker, Community Development, Third Sector, Residential Care Worker, Charity, Education


The Income Housing Officer will receive a salary of circa £27,500 per annum depending on experience, plus the following benefits -

  • 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays
  • Mileage paid at 45p per mile
  • Free car parking on site
  • 35 hour working week Monday to Friday with an earlier finish at 4.30pm on Fridays
